About Detection Range of Floodlight Camera E340

"Detection Range" refers to the proximity of the coverage range of the PIR Motion Sensor (Passive Infrared Sensor), which is the physical distance range within which the device can detect motion. If set "far", the device can detect motion from further away, up to 40ft. Conversely, if set "closer", the device can only detect motion from a closer range (about 20ft).

Understanding the Functioning of PIR Motion Sensor: The PIR Motion Sensor operates independently of the camera's visual range. With a broader coverage (approximately 200°) and extended detection distance, it surpasses the camera's capabilities. This makes it an excellent tool for activating the floodlight when you return home or move around the monitored area.

How can I adjust the range of the PIR sensor?

You can set and adjust the range of the PIR sensor in the "detection range" section.

  • In "standard" mode, you can adjust both left and right PIR sensors simultaneously.
  • In "advanced" mode, you can independently adjust the coverage range of the left and right PIR sensors.
  • In "automatic" mode, the device algorithm will automatically configure the appropriate range for you.

What is the 'out-of-view detection' feature? How can I use the 'out-of-view detection' feature?

  1. This product has two PIR sensors. We hope to cover more blind spots that the camera can't see through the heat-sensing detection of these two sensors.
  2. For those who want to use the 'out-of-view detection', you can set the left, middle, and right fields of view. When the PIR in the corresponding area is triggered, the camera will turn to see what happened. Please note, if you enable this feature without setting a vision, the pan-tilt will not rotate.
  3. For those who feel the camera is moving around too much and want to fix the angle for detection and tracking, you can choose to turn off the 'out-of-view detection' function, but this will not affect the detection within the camera's field of view.
