Q1: When the monitor displays dual camera views, why doesn't the audio automatically switch back and forth anymore?
Starting from Monitor v1.1.7.4, the monitor no longer switches audio on a fixed-time rotation. Instead, it now offers two methods:
-
Manual audio switching: When both camera feeds are displayed simultaneously, you can manually switch the selected view, and the audio will automatically follow the corresponding camera.
-
Alert-triggered automatic audio switching: When the unselected camera detects an event (such as crying, loud noise, motion, or temperature anomaly), the monitor can automatically switch to that view and play its audio. This feature is disabled by default and must be manually enabled in Settings.
This adjustment reduces unnecessary audio switching, helping you hear important sounds more quickly when they truly matter.
Q2: There's activity or crying from the other camera — why can't I hear it?
When auto switch audio is turned off, the monitor only plays audio from the currently selected view. If the other camera detects an event, a prompt appears on screen, but the audio will not switch automatically.
To automatically hear the other camera's audio when alerts are detected, please confirm both of the following:
-
"Auto Switch Audio" is enabled in the monitor settings.
-
The relevant event alerts (e.g., crying, motion) for that camera are enabled. Path: Settings → Alert.
Once these conditions are met, the monitor will automatically switch to the corresponding view and play its audio when the other camera detects an event.
Q3: How do I enable Auto Switch Audio?
On the monitor, go to: Settings → Monitor Settings → Dual Camera → Auto Switch Audio, and set "Auto Switch Audio" to ON.
Q4: Under what conditions does Auto Switch Audio trigger?
When "Auto Switch Audio" is enabled and the unselected camera detects an enabled alert event, the monitor will automatically switch to that view and play its audio.
Alert events that currently support auto switching include:
-
Crying
-
Loud noise
-
Motion
-
Temperature anomaly
Please confirm that the relevant event alert switches for the camera are enabled in Settings → Alert; otherwise, auto switching will not trigger.
Q5: Why doesn't every alert trigger an audio switch?
To prevent frequent back-and-forth switching, the system enters a brief cooldown period (10 seconds) after each automatic switch. During this cooldown, if the other camera detects another alert, only a prompt will be displayed — the audio will not switch again.
Q6: How does the system handle simultaneous alerts from both cameras?
When both cameras detect alerts simultaneously or nearly simultaneously, the system performs only one automatic switch, switching to the currently unselected camera.
Q7: Can I turn off Auto Switch Audio?
Yes. You can disable "Auto Switch Audio" in Settings at any time. Once disabled, audio will only follow the view you currently have selected.
Q8: Is this change a device malfunction after an update?
No, it is not a malfunction.
This is a feature upgrade — audio switching has changed from "timed switching" to "alert event-based switching".
You can enable or disable Auto Switch Audio in Settings according to your usage habits.
Q9: I still want the timed auto switching feature — what can I do?
The monitor has been upgraded to alert event-based automatic audio switching, and timed auto switching is not currently supported. We have received user feedback regarding timed auto switching and are evaluating related use cases and improvement plans.
In the meantime, you can:
-
Manually switch the current view and audio.
-
Enable relevant alert notifications to ensure timely switching when important events occur.
Any future feature updates will be communicated through product upgrade release notes.
