The Geofencing feature requires everyone at home to install the Eufy App and allow the app to use the phone’s location in real-time.

When you enter the zone, the security mode will automatically switch to the Home mode by Geofencing. When you go out of the zone, the security mode will automatically switch to Away mode by Geofencing.

For the family & guest users, please tell them to keep enabling the phone’s location and allow the eufy app to have the location permissions.

Setup Process

1. Tap the Smart and choose one device that allows Geofencing to set your location. Tap Next.

2. Give this location a name. For example, you can name it “MyHome”. Tap Next.

3. Select a security mode when you are away from “MyHome”. Away mode by default. Tap Next.

4. Select a security mode when you are at “MyHome”. Home mode by default. Tap Next.

5. Select the enabled devices. If you have shared the security devices to your families, you are able to select their phone models.

6. A setup summary will show the details of location and selected mode. Tap Save.

7. Setup Complete. Geofencing for your system is ready.

How Geofencing Work for Multi-Person

The system can work for a family with multiple members. If you share your devices with your family, and they accept the sharing invitation in Eufy App. Yours and your family’s phone will be listed in the Enabled Devices.

The system supports multi-person (multi-phone) to switch the Geofencing. When at least one person is in the zone, it will be considered home. When everyone is out of the zone, it will be considered to be away from home.

If you don’t want your phone in the Geofencing group, please disabled your phone in the Enabled Devices menu.

Useful Tips

1. Please note that the accuracy of geofencing depends on the positioning accuracy of your phone.

2. Due to the battery saving strategy of your phone, the geofencing switching modes may delay about 20sec-6min.

3. In order to keep a good accuracy of geofencing, please pay attention to the following settings.

• Please update your phone's iOS and Map version to the latest version.
• Please keep your operating system updated.
• Do not turn on the phone's battery saver.
• Keep both location switch and WiFi switch on.
• Grant Eufy App for the background location permission.
• Do not clean background Apps, some smartphones may turn off the geofencing function after cleaning.
