What is the difference between 1080p and 2K resolution?

The majority of eufySecurity camera models currently come in two different resolutions: 1080p and 2K.
The 1080p resolution, known as Full HD:

  • When the aspect ratio of the screen is 16:9, horizontal pixels * vertical pixels = 1920*1080
  • When the aspect ratio of the screen is 4:3, horizontal pixels * vertical pixels = 1600*1200

The 2K resolution, known as Quad HD:

  • When the aspect ratio of the screen is 16:9, horizontal pixels * vertical pixels = 2304*1296
  • When the aspect ratio of the screen is 16:9, horizontal pixels * vertical pixels = 2560*1440
  • When the aspect ratio of the screen is 4:3, horizontal pixels * vertical pixels = 2560*1920
  • When the aspect ratio of the screen is 4:3, horizontal pixels * vertical pixels = 2048*1536

Devices with higher pixels generally provide clearer video recordings and higher quality images. Additionally, when an image is zoomed in on a 2K video, it will retain more clarity compared to a 1080p video due to the difference in pixels.

Notes:
1080p, a video display format. The letter p means progressive scan (progressive scan) usually 1080p screen resolution of 1920 × 1080

Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) defines the standard for 2K resolution as 2048×1080. But with the different aspect ratios of the screen, the 2K resolution will produce different variations, and these are normal. (An image with a horizontal resolution greater / larger than 2000 can be called 2K resolution)

Digital television and digital cinema typically use several different 4K resolutions. In television and consumer media, 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) is the dominant 4K standard, while the movie projection industry uses 4096 x 2160 (DCI 4K)
