Theoretical Battery Life
Actual battery life may vary depending on factors such as motion detection frequency, recording duration, operating mode, and environmental conditions. The built-in solar panel significantly boosts charging efficiency, enabling continuous operation and achieving "infinite power" under optimal sunlight conditions, thanks to its high-efficiency design that maximizes energy harvest from sunlight.
Why is my eufyCam S4’s actual battery life shorter than expected?
Please be aware that your eufyCam S4’s battery performance is influenced by several variables, including:

Camera settings and power mode.

Motion detection frequency and sensitivity.

Recording duration per event.
-
Environmental temperatures.
-
Sunlight exposure for solar charging.
To help maximize battery life, consider the following best practices:

Select Battery Life Mode for optimized performance.

Set motion detection to “Human Only.”

Reduce motion detection sensitivity if possible.
-
Enable Activity Zones to minimize unnecessary recordings.

Adjust camera positioning to ensure the solar panel receives adequate sunlight.

Add an external solar panel or use a removable battery for extended runtime.

Disable the snapshot feature if not needed.
Charging Time
Using a 5V/2A charger, the eufyCam S4 takes approximately 7–8 hours to fully charge.
Charging Methods
Each eufyCam S4 ships with the battery pre-charged to approximately 40%-80%.
For recharging, we recommend using:

A 5V/2A USB charger.

The included USB charging cable.

Optionally, a removable battery pack (sold separately) for quick battery swaps.
Charging Troubleshooting
If your camera is not charging:

Ensure you are using the original USB cable and a 5V/2A charger.

Verify that the camera’s LED indicator is solid blue.

Confirm charging status via the eufy app.

Make sure the ambient temperature is within the supported range: 0℃ to 45℃ (32℉ to 113℉). Please note that the camera cannot be charged outside this temperature range.
