The AI engine is built in SoloCam E42, which supports Human Detection, Vehicle Detection.

The Human Detection feature can reduce the number of false alarms sent by filtering out events that don't include humans, such as the motions of cars and animals.

The Vehicle Detection feature  can help to catch up with the user's vehicle in the backyard or driveway. It can only detect the running vehicle to reduce too many detection because of the parking vehicle. 

And the camera will activate the  ‘All Other Motion’ detection type in B&W night vision.

If connected to HomeBase 3, it can benefit from the AI capabilities of HomeBase 3, adding features such as face recognition and pet detection.

Why does the system sometimes fail to detect the object?

Please check the following:

1. Pull down the device list to refresh the device’s status.

2. Make sure your camera is online and the battery has power.

3. If you recently relocated the camera which is not working, check its signal strength; make sure the signal strength is strong in the new location.

4. A better installation can bring better detection, please check the installation tips in In-app setup. 

5. Create a better default preset position.

How does the detection technology work?

The recognition or detection technology works in 3 steps:

1. When the PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor detects motion and body-heat from a moving object, it wakes up the camera and the camera starts recording.

2. The AI engine analyzes the figure to determine if it is human, vehicle or not.

3. If the capture meets the set basic detection value requirements, the AI engine will try to grab the human/vehicle and push a detection notification to you.
