Why isn't my camera recording video?
It may be because the device does not have an SD card installed, which prevents the recorded video from being saved to the device; it is also possible that Motion detection is not turned on, which prevents the device from capturing events.
Why does the system sometimes miss recording events?
This is because maybe the person or car in the event exceeds the distance of the PIR trigger, resulting in no triggering of the video recording; it is also possible that the device is not using the correct mode, as well as the sensitivity setting is too low, it is recommended to set the device mode to Optimal Surveillance mode and increase the sensitivity.
About Camera Working Mode
SoloCam is a battery powered camera which of course means there will be limits to its battery-life. Alerts are not recorded all the time. A balance must be found between preserving battery life and recording alerts.
The camera will record motion until no human is detected or until the maximum recording time is reached, whichever occurs first.
SoloCam is set to Optimal Battery Life mode by default, which ensures battery-life will last 6 months if every day has less than 30 alerts.
The system will try to detect and record every alert, and every recording file will be up to 20 seconds in length.
If motion occurs intensively in the short term, the system will increase the detection interval to reduce the fast rate of battery draining.
Optimal Battery Life mode is suitable for scenes where the camera is facing a point where many objects move every day. For example, facing the road, etc.
If you want to record more alerts and want to optimize the battery, you may select Optimal Surveillance mode. The recording file length will be up to 60 seconds and there will be a shorter recording interval if too many alerts occur in the short term.
This mode is suitable for most of the cases.
If you don’t want to miss any alert, you may select Customize Recording mode. You can manually set the recording file length and detection interval. If you set the detection interval to 0 seconds, the system will record every alert for you. But please note that the battery will drain fast if you set it to Customization mode. In most cases, the battery life will be less than 3 months.
Why does SoloCam only record the end of an event?
It’s possible that the object moved too fast or was at the edge of the detection zone.
You can increase the Motion Detection sensitivity to extend the detection range, so that events can be detected earlier.
You can set the camera to Customize Recording mode in the menu Camera Settings > Power Manager > Working Mode.
Why does SoloCam stop recording earlier than expected?
The system leverages the maximum recording time and if it detects human motion or not to stop a recording, depending on whichever limit comes first.
When AI detects no human/running vehicle/pet in the video for a while, it will stop the current recording.
Does the system support 24x7 recording?
Yes, it supports 24/7 recording.
But it requires an SD card to be connected and wired mode: using a direct power supply.
Or when it is using wired mode and paired with a home base with a hard drive.
Do I need to subscribe to a plan to record video?
No. SoloCam E42 does not support cloud storage.
And the footage is saved to the built-in storage or if you connect it with HomeBase.
Learn about the Events History
Event History gives you a summary of the detected events that activated your camera system throughout the day, such as the motion sensor detecting movement.
How to view Event History?
In the EufySecurity app home screen, select Events on the nav bar on the button.
You’ll see a list of events for the current day, and a summary with the numbers of events and timelines for each day.
To see everything that happened on a particular day, tap the day.
The view will expand to show a chronological list of each activity spotted by each of your eufy Security devices.
How to update the events?
Each time you open the Security History, it gets updated with the latest available information. To refresh the view, simply slide down the Events page.
