Video Doorbell C31/C30: How do I set up the chime and adjust its volume?

1. Adjusting Chime Volume

If the doorbell is connected to a HomeBase:

Open the eufy app and navigate to My Device > HomeBase Name > HomeBase Settings > Audio Settings > HomeBase Ringtone Volume to adjust the ringtone volume.

If the doorbell is connected to the router:

Open the eufy app and navigate to Doorbell Settings > Audio Settings to adjust the ringtone volume.

2. Does the Doorbell Include a Chime?

The doorbell does not include a standalone chime. Instead, it uses the HomeBase speaker as a chime.
If you have existing doorbell wiring and a mechanical chime, the C31 model can be hardwired to control your chime. Please note that the C30 model cannot be hardwired to your existing doorbell wiring.
If you have an Alexa Echo device, you can link it to the doorbell and use it as a chime.

3. Using Alexa as a Chime

You can use Alexa devices as doorbell chimes by following the steps below:

Enable the eufy Security skill in the Alexa app.
Link your eufy account to Alexa.
Discover new devices in the Alexa app.
Find the corresponding video doorbell and enable the “Doorbell Announcement” feature.

4. Using the HomeBase Speaker as a Chime

By default, the HomeBase speaker will act as a chime when the doorbell is pressed.

5. What if the HomeBase Is Not in an Ideal Location to Work as a Chime?

If the HomeBase is not ideally located to work as a chime, you can:

Set up the HomeBase to connect via Wi-Fi, allowing you to place it at a location in your home for better sound coverage.
Alternatively, if you prefer to keep the HomeBase connected through an Ethernet cable, you can use an Alexa Echo Dot as a chime, or consider using the MiniBase Chime.

6. How Loud Is the HomeBase Doorbell Chime?

The HomeBase doorbell chime is 90 dB at a distance of 1 m / 3.28 ft.

7. How Many Alexa Devices Can Be Used as Chimes?

There is no known limit to the number of Alexa devices that can be used as chimes. You can set up multiple devices throughout your home for extensive sound coverage.
