This article outlines common causes and solutions for radar sensors that are either triggering too frequently or failing to trigger as expected.
Radar Triggering Too Frequently
-
Sensitivity Is Too High
If there are trees, walls, or other objects opposite the radar, they may cause false triggers. Try lowering the radar sensitivity in the app settings.
-
You can review activity in the Motion Log and configure custom pop-up notifications through the app to better monitor radar behavior.
-
Trigger Priority Order
Radar trigger priority is as follows: Manual > Security > Other modes. This means manual triggers will override other settings, which may cause unexpected behavior if not configured correctly.
Radar Fails to Trigger
-
Incorrect Installation Angle
The radar must be installed at the recommended angle of 30°-45° for accurate detection. Incorrect angles can significantly reduce its effectiveness.
-
No Detection Signal
The radar should flash red when a person passes by. If it doesn’t, this may indicate a malfunction or incorrect positioning.
-
Insufficient Movement
The radar uses displacement accuracy to determine if motion is significant enough to trigger a response. Ensure that the movement is noticeable and within detection range.
For optimal performance, verify that the radar is installed correctly, sensitivity is adjusted based on the environment, and that the network and firmware are up to date.
