What Should I Do If My S2 Robot Misses Areas or Does Not Mop Certain Spots

If your S2 robot misses certain areas or does not mop specific spots, the issue may be related to room layout, obstacles, carpet conditions, or setup limitations. Please review the troubleshooting steps below to identify and resolve the cause.

Room-Related Missed Cleaning

Step 1: Room Door Closed During Cleaning

If a door is closed while a cleaning task is in progress, the robot will treat the room as inaccessible and skip it.
Ensure all rooms you want cleaned have their doors fully open before starting the task.

Step 2: Passage Width Is Too Narrow

The robot requires a minimum passage width of 36 cm to enter a room.
If the doorway or passage is narrower, widen it by adjusting the door position or removing nearby obstacles.

Step 3: Doorway Thresholds

If a threshold is higher than 35 mm, the robot cannot cross it, resulting in missed cleaning for that area.

Step 4: Carpets Near Room Entrances

Carpets with a height exceeding 50 mm will block the robot from entering the room.
For long-pile carpets (pile height greater than 30 mm), the robot may automatically avoid the area to prevent roller brush jamming.

Step 5: Pets or Family Members Blocking Access

Pets or children may unintentionally block the robot’s path during cleaning.
Clear the area and restart the cleaning task if this occurs.

Step 6: Foreign Objects Near Doorways

Items such as bundled hair, dust piles, or similar debris may be identified by the AI system as fixed obstacles.
Remove these objects and rerun the cleaning task.

Carpet-Related Missed Cleaning

Step 1: Carpet Height Exceeds Robot Capability

The robot cannot climb onto carpets higher than 55 mm.
Long-pile carpets with a total thickness exceeding 35 mm are also skipped automatically for safety reasons.

Step 2: Loose or Flowing Carpet Fibers

Fluffy or "floating fiber" carpets that easily tangle with the roller brush may be avoided to prevent damage.

Step 3: Carpet Area Is Too Small

Carpets smaller than the robot’s footprint may not trigger a cleaning action, and the robot may simply pass over them.

Step 4: Pet Feeding or Litter Areas

Carpets located near pet bowls or litter boxes may be skipped to avoid spills or contamination.

Step 5: Thin Carpets (Below 5 mm)

On very thin carpets (under 5 mm), the robot will drive over the surface but may not perform active cleaning.

Additional Tips

1. Furniture or Cabinet Clearance

The robot cannot clean under furniture or cabinets with a clearance lower than 10.5 cm.
Adjust furniture height if possible or clean these areas manually if dust accumulates frequently.

2. Moving Obstacles During Cleaning

If obstacles are moved while the robot is cleaning, it may mark the area as already cleaned in its internal map.
