What should I do if my Omni E35 misses some areas when cleaning?

Robot vacuums work differently from cleaning by hand and, due to their physical design and sensors, may not be able to cover 100% of the floor area. The three main reasons for missed areas are: physical height constraints, obstacles that move or change during cleaning, and closed doors. Understanding these factors can help you tell whether the missed coverage is normal or needs troubleshooting. The situations listed below are expected behavior and do not indicate a product defect.

Common Cleaning Coverage Limitations

  1. Areas Below the LiDAR Height

The Omni E35 has a fixed body height, with the LiDAR sensor positioned on top of the robot. Areas underneath cabinets, beds, or other low furniture may be inaccessible if the available clearance is below the robot’s LiDAR detection height.

This is a physical limitation of the robot and is considered normal.

  1. Obstacles Moved During Cleaning

If an obstacle, such as a chair or pet, is present when the Omni E35 reaches an area, the robot may identify the obstacle and mark the location as occupied on the map. It may then skip the area for the remainder of the current cleaning cycle.

If the obstacle is removed afterward, the robot may not return to the area during the same cleaning cycle. Start a new cleaning cycle or use Zone Clean to clean the missed area.

  1. Room Doors Closed During Cleaning

If a room door is closed when the Omni E35 is cleaning, the robot cannot enter the room and will not be able to clean it.

Keep the doors to rooms you want cleaned open before starting a cleaning cycle.

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1: Check Whether the Door Is Open

If a door is closed during cleaning, the Omni E35 cannot enter the room. Make sure all doors to rooms you want cleaned are fully open before starting a cleaning cycle.

Step 2: Check the Doorway on the Map

Open the map in the eufy app and check how the doorway is displayed. If the doorway appears as a solid line, indicating a wall rather than an opening, the map may have incorrectly identified the doorway as a wall. In this case, delete the current map and create a new one.

Step 3: Check No-Go Zones and Virtual Boundaries

Check the map for any unintended no-go zones or virtual boundaries that may be blocking the entrance to the missed room. Go to Map Edit in the eufy app to review and adjust these settings as needed.

Step 4: Check the Battery Level

In larger homes, the robot may run low on battery during a cleaning cycle. When this happens, it will automatically return to the base station to recharge. Please make sure Auto-Resume Cleaning is enabled (App path: Settings → Cleaning Preferences → Auto-Resume Cleaning). Once enabled, after recharging to a sufficient level, the robot will automatically return to the interrupted area and continue cleaning — so there's no need to worry about large areas being left uncleaned.

Step 5: Remap the Home

If none of the above issues apply, delete the current map and create a new one. Before starting the mapping process:

  • Make sure all doors are fully open.

  • Ensure there is sufficient lighting.

  • Clear clutter from the floor.

  • Do not follow or disturb the robot while it is mapping.

You can then use the Quick Mapping feature to create a new map.
